Visual Merchandising

The brief was to:

/ To define and promote a understanding of visual merchandising and display as a creative principle of marketing within a commercial context.

/ Demonstrate CAD skills to create visual formats of retail environments which suit the project

The project in collaboration with Selfridges:

//Create a creative package which includes : trend inspiration, consumer demographics, product ranges and brands and a visual merchandising strategy.

// Design a CAD package which visualises the VM concept formed, which fit's Selfridges 'Radical Luxury' campaign

// Communicate and justify strategy via a presentation.

The concept:

Brutalism" the name given to describe the bold concrete architecture. A bold experimental approach replacing the pre war slums with home fit for hero's. Luxury in the sky, bold hard shapes pointing to a future. New Birmingham is now shaking off this concrete utopian vision and creating a future filled with a modern radical luxury shaped in glass and styled with clean beauty,

This exhibition represents these changes, allowing the viewer to see the hard brutal shapes of Birmingham recent past crafted into modern radical luxuries.

Three of the city's leading creative radical talents are challenged to Chanel the transformation on brutiful Biringham into 2018 radical luxury, producing items that evoke the Birmingham of tomorrow from the materials of the Birmingham of yesterday.

The concept was chosen to be presented in front of the Selfridges, Birmingham Management team, who decided to display the work. Here is the work exhibited below.
